SLOW PACE OF PLAY CAN MAKE A ROUND OF GOLF UNENJOYABLE FOR OTHER PLAYERS!
Mountain Golf is committed to ensuring all players share the course fairly and enjoy their round

Pace of Play – Please attempt to complete each 18-hole round in between 4 hours and 4.5 hours –(approximately 15 minutes maximum per hole or less if possible).  Always try to maintain contact with the group ahead whenever possible.

Our Course MARSHALL will provide assistance, as necessary.  The Marshall’s role is to attempt to ensure everyone enjoys their round and that no group is unduly affected by a slow pace of play.  The Marshall may let you know that your pace of play may be slow, ask you to try to keep up to the group directly ahead and they may offer suggestions on how to do so.

Pace of Play Rules

  1. Players are responsible to make best efforts to keep up with the group ahead at all times;
  2. To be considered on-pace, groups should try to be within 1-2 shots of the group ahead;
  3. Consider playing “Ready golf” (as described below) to ensure you maintain pace of play – these simple tips can easily speed up your pace

READY GOLF SUGGESTIONS

  1. Always be ready to shoot as quickly as possible and as soon as the way is clear;
  2. On the Tee, whoever is ready to go should go – don’t worry about who has the “honour”;
  3. If there is a shorter hitter who cannot reach the group in front, let them tee off first;
  4. Don’t waste time on the tee box (or the Greens) having extended conversations – carry on conversations as you walk or ride to your ball;
  5. Don’t spend more than 3 minutes looking for a lost ball;
  6. On the Green, play ready golf even if you are not “away” – if someone is “away” but not ready, whoever is ready should go ahead and putt out;
  7. Be generous with “gimmies” – don’t waste time lining up 1-2 foot putts!
  8. Clear the green as quickly as you can so that the following group can make their approach shots;
  9. Beginner players just learning the game should not be afraid to pick up their ball on occasion to move up closer to a green and keep the round going at a proper pace.

MOUNTAIN GOLF THANKS YOU FOR YOUR CO-OPERATION IN FOLLOWING THE PACE OF PLAY POLICY.   ENJOY YOUR ROUND AND WE HOPE TO SEE YOU AGAIN SOON.
